Learning Experience Designer

Empowering your audience to
Show Up Ready

Life-Long Learner

"the ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge for personal, professional

or spiritual reasons"

My Work Philosophy

My responsibility as a Learning Experience Designer, is to provide varied learner experiences that organizes and deeply seats instructions so that users can recall, apply and perform a skill at the right time.
The field of Healthcare requires a continuous investment of knowledge via policies, regulatories, new applications and much more. When employees step away from serving patients and into the learning space, it is my goal to make the best use of time spent for the user and the organization.

always a learner

As an Individual Contributor, my goal is to always seek innovative strategies that provide, track and measure learning solutions. Thru continuous study of researched practices, upskilling and re-skilling in applications that move the learning needle forward, and participation in conferences, workshops and communities of practice, I am committed to providing the best learning experience possible to the audience that I serve.

Learning Experience Design in Healthcare

Instructional Design in the Healthcare Industry can range from regulatory content to instruction needed for job-specific skills aimed at delivering a successful patient visit and experience. Practitioners in this field need content that's evidence-based, tried and proven, and I work with SMEs to design and develop learning experiences that speak to these needs.

Synthesia Journey

It was a pleasure to share my software application journey with fellow designers who were looking for creative ways to develop 'text heavy' content.
In this video, I used the Synthesia platform tool that I was presenting, to introduce my "Why".
I absolute appreciate the opportunity to knowledge share with fellow practitioners. This was my intro:

Articulate Rise sample

This Pharmaceutical Waste course was designed to demonstrate to a specific SME, the difference in a Rise vs Storyline course. Although the Rise course presents beautifully on mobile, the SME opted for the Storyline course because of the greater degree of engagement that was available for the audience.

Articulate Storyline sample

This course was created in Articulate Storyline for an audience of Healthcare workers to help them prepare for potential violence in their work setting. There was overwhelming appreciation for this course delivery using multiple modalities. We aimed to keep the audience engaged due to the serious nature of this topic.

Stretch projects go beyond the scope of your daily tasks and seek to solve a problem within the organization. Below is a summary of one such project and a brief look at my journey.

Projects Summary Report

FY2024 was a busy year for our eLearning team. One of the highlights of this year was the challenge to track course completions for 3 of 11 Operating Units in our network.

Data from a monthly completion report by OU gave insight on when to execute learning campaigns. As the leader of this initiative, we were able to obtain additional data points to help drive a healthy balance between knowledge and practice.

Below you will find my journey to discovery for this initiative.

the problem

Our L&D Team reported course completions of compliance data only provided by our Learning Management System (LMS). This left a gap in reporting of other learning efforts provided to our workforce by the organization and an inaccurate ROI of our LMS.

the pitch

The opportunity to capture course completions for 3 of 11 operating units (OUs) for the fiscal year.

My research questions:
1. What are the top 10 most requested courses in the OU?
2. Is there a correlation of success or failure in patient/family services of one OU over the other that we can attribute to our learning initiatives?

the process

Generated automated monthly reports via the LMS of all course completions by month by OU.
Used Excel Pivot tables and Power BI to create visuals of monthly results.

the pain points

Understanding how to analyze the LMS data in order to ensure accuracy in reporting and explanation of findings.

the outcome

Automated reporting with dashboards to share visuals with OU leaders on the success or failure of training efforts and job preparedness of their staff.

*note: the results were a reflection of courses completed vs effectiveness of learning assets.

Thank-you for stopping by. It is an honor to share a small sample of the work that I get to create each day........ Alicia Jalyne
